Wellbeing Service

4th June 2013

Here at the University of the West of England-Bristol (UWE-Bristol), student health and wellbeing is at the forefront of our culture and community and we want to ensure the best student experience possible. As part of this objective, it was felt to be important to incorporate a more accessible way for students to register for support from the newly integrated Wellbeing Service. Student Services within UWE-Bristol had been reorganised, and the former Wellbeing and Counselling Services were merged into one large Wellbeing Service which incorporated counselling, mental health and mentoring support. To improve services and reduce the amount of non-attendance by students, the decision was made in consultation with all Wellbeing staff to create a new online registration form for students to register with the service. Not only did this streamline the way that students accessed the service, it helped to reduce the amount of time professional staff needed to collect basic information from students. It also gave students the opportunity to more clearly define their need for services whilst completing the online registration form.
