Supporting the wider community

Network Membership

The UK Healthy Universities Network is open to universities and other HEIs within the UK. It continues to be free of charge and involves a commitment to the principles, vision and aspirations of the 2015 Okanagan International Charter for Health Promoting Universities and Colleges and a willingness to participate in the Network and support its vision and aims. Appreciating the importance of engaging people from across large, diverse and complex organisations, we welcome multiple stakeholders (including students’ unions) and encourage them to engage actively with the network.

How Do I Join the Network?

Membership – UK Universities & HEIs

  • As part of the application process, member HEIs are asked to agree and nominate a “lead” member for the purposes of liaison and communication – this also offers an opportunity for member HEIs to have a clickable link directly from the new website.

  • If member HEIs have achieved or are at the stage where they are able to achieve high-level executive commitment to take forward their Healthy University programme, we welcome them securing Vice Chancellor / Principal level sign-up to the Network and will explicitly acknowledge this on our website. A UK Healthy Universities Network Briefing Paper has been written as a helpful document.
